Home Base Iowa Communities add additional incentives for Veterans that locate to their communities. Johnston is unique because Camp Dodge, the Iowa National Guard headquarters since 1909, is located in our city. Nearly 2,000 Johnston residents are already military service-connected. With the enviable assets available to all Service Members of any branch of Service through Camp Dodge and the strong support of local business incentives in Johnston, the city considers itself well-positioned to welcome military families.
