A Regional Small Business Grant Program is currently under consideration. The City of Johnston will be participating in this program and additional information will be posted here when available.
Iowa Economic Development Authority Small Business Grants:
Monday, March 23, Governor Reynolds announced a new Iowa Small Business Relief Program that will provide financial assistance including grants to eligible small businesses ranging from $5,000-$25,000 and tax deferrals to any Iowa businesses that have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications will be available at https://www.iowaeconomicdevelopment.com/businessrecoveryon Tuesday, March 24, at 8 a.m. Application deadline was Tuesday, March 31, at 12 p.m. Additional funding for this program is under discussion.
SBA Business Assistance:
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has issued a disaster declaration for the state of Iowa. The declaration allows pandemic-impacted small businesses to apply for low-interest support loans.

Federal CARES Act
The initial round of PPP funding has been exhausted with additional funding currently under consideration by Congress. Applications are accessible here upon reopening of the program.
