NW 62nd Avenue & Merle Hay Road Project

Project Description
This project involves the complete reconstruction of NW 62nd Avenue from NW 59th Court east through NW 54th Court. This project is part of the city’s efforts to improve roadway safety, improve the deteriorating roadway surface and to improve overall drainage in the immediate vicinity of the project. The project will be built in three main construction stages with stage 1 beginning spring/early summer.

The project will consist of PCC Pavement, sidewalk and shared-use path, water-main improvements, storm sewer, sub-drains, sanitary sewer, sanitary manholes, storm sewer manholes and intakes, pavement markings, and surface restoration.

Project Update (7/27/2020)
The contractor has completed the sanitary sewer main for the entire project and is currently working on installing new services. Water main is almost completely installed along the corridor. They are still trying to find the leak in the portion of the main west of Community State Bank. Once the leak has been isolated and fixed they will proceed with pressure testing and chlorination. After testing is complete they will finish the water main connections and be done completely with water main. Wenthold will begin grading the west portion of NW 62nd Avenue once water main is complete to get ready for paving. Wenthold is currently removing pavement east of Merle Hay Road on NW 62nd to allow for J&K to continue their storm sewer installation east of the intersection.
