Project Description This project involves the complete reconstruction of NW 62nd Avenue from NW 59th Court east through NW 54th Court. This project is part of the city’s efforts to improve roadway safety, improve the deteriorating roadway surface and improve overall drainage in the immediate vicinity of the project. The project will be built in three main construction stages with stage 1 beginning spring/early summer.
The project will consist of PCC Pavement, sidewalk and shared-use path, water-main improvements, storm sewer, sub-drains, sanitary sewer, sanitary manholes, storm sewer manholes and intakes, pavement markings, and surface restoration.
Project Update (7/19/2021) The contractor has finished the trail in all areas along Merle Hay Road and NW 62nd Avenue that previously had gaps in the sidewalk/trail. Permanent pavement marking has been completed (temporary traffic control will be pulled on 7/16/21). Trail extension to the south along Merle Hay Road has begun. Removals/saw cutting complete. Trail grading will be done by the week ending July 23rd. Final surface restoration will be completed late summer/early fall when the seeding dates reopen for permanent seed.
