National Preparedness Month - September 2010

emergency planSeptember is National Preparedness Month and Polk County Emergency Management is supporting this campaign to increase awareness and assist you in becoming as prepared as possible if an event occurs.

September is the perfect month to prepare your family, neighborhood and community for disasters.  There are basic steps that will prepare you for a disaster should it occur until help arrives.

  • Put together and emergency supply kit.
  • Make a family emergency plan.
  • Be prepared to help your neighbor.
  • Work as a team to keep everyone safe.
