Beaver Creek Stabilization

Map of Project Area

Beaver Creek Stabilization South of NW 62nd Avenue

In 2014, this project used revetment stone to protect the toe and bank of the slope along the west bank of Beaver Creek.  The purpose of the stabilization was to correct erosion from two separate drainage channels as they drain into Beaver Creek.  One is located north and the other south of Huntingwood Court.  It also protects a sanitary sewer trunk main which runs parallel to Beaver Creek in close proximity to the creek.

This project was funded by the Johnston Stormwater Utility, which was implemented in July 2012 to create a dedicated funding source for projects that reduce erosion, protect properties and infrastructure from flooding and to improve water quality within the City of Johnston, for more information on the stormwater utility, visit the stormwater projects page.

Estimated Cost: $326,163
