The Johnston Fire Department is accepting applications for paid-on-call staff. The department seeks individuals already possessing Iowa or National Fire certifications and/or EMS certifications, but will train individuals wanting to work in a paid-on-call role. Johnston residency is required. Compensation is competitive, depending on qualifications. Applicants must possess a valid Iowa driver’s license, be at least 18 years of age, and be able to successfully complete a criminal history background check.The Johnston Fire Department also requires a doctor’s release stating members are physically qualified to participate in fire fighting/EMS activities.
