Mailbox Regulations

By U.S. Postal Service guidelines, mailboxes should be placed so that the front of the mailbox is approximately 6" behind the vertical (street side) face of the curb. City operations, such as snow plowing, will go faster if this guideline is observed.

Snow plows or other equipment could inadvertently damage your mailbox or its supports if it is not located correctly. Check and correct the placement of your mailbox to help to avoid damage and interruption to your mail delivery.
