General Information

When traveling on a city street, taking a stroll on the sidewalk, going to the library, parking or standing under a shade tree, you are benefiting from services provided by the Johnston Public Works Department. Activities range from cleaning, repairing and maintaining streets to mowing city parks and watering trees. Department staff also maintain city facilities, signs and utilities. The public works facility also houses the water/sewer maintenance department.

In case of an emergency after regular office hours, call 278-0822 and follow the voice instructions. If you do not receive a response in 15 minutes, call the Johnston Police Department at 278-2345.

Call the City of Johnston Code Enforcement at 278-2344 to register any complaints about rubbish, animals, junk, cars, or other nuisances.
