About Public Works

The Johnston Public Works Streets Department maintains, repairs, and plows 75.7 total miles of streets.

The Johnston Water/Sewer Department maintains and repairs approximately 87 miles of water mains, 27.5 miles of sanitary sewer lines, 890 hydrants, 1,798 water valves, 1,162 manholes, and two storage tanks that hold an estimated three million gallons of water.

Public Works employees strive to provide our residents with quick and efficient service.
