I worked for Decatur County as a Deputy/Investigator for 10 years. I have been with the Johnston Police Department for 19 years. What did you do before you became a police officer? I was a Sgt. in the US Army and also served as a Communications Specialist. Why did you choose to become a police officer? I wanted a job where I could be outdoors and I really enjoy interacting and working with different people. Also, I knew there would be different challenges every day at work. What do you like best about your profession? I like interacting with the public and dealing with all of the technological improvements which are assisting the police with crime solving. What do you like the least about your profession? I do not like domestic assault situations and traffic fatalities are always difficult to deal with. What do you enjoy doing when you are not on duty? I like boating at our lake home and spending as much time as possible with my grandchildren.
