Lieutenant Lynn AsweganLt. Aswegan began his law enforcement career in 1986. He is the department's lead investigator, coordinates department training and is responsible for setting special operations for the department. Voicemail for Lt. He began his law enforcement career in 1999 with the Marshalltown Police Department where he became a certified Field Training Officer. He joined the Johnston Police Department in 2004. Sgt. He began his law enforcement career at the Lucas County Sheriff's Office where he became a certified ASP Instructor. He joined the Johnston Police Department in December 2003. Sgt. Spring is a Certified Less Lethal/Extended Impact Instructor (Beanbag) and the Field Training Supervisor for the Department. Sgt. Spring is also a member of the JPD Bike Patrol. Agan began his civilian law enforcement career with the Ankeny Police Department in 1996 and joined the Johnston Police Department in 2006. Sgt. Agan is currently the school resource officer (SRO) for the department and Johnston Community School District. Sgt. Agan is a member and instructor of the JPD Bike Patrol. Voicemail for Sgt. Detective Travis HamiltonDetective Hamilton has over 10 years of law enforcement experience and has been with the Johnston Police Department for over 5 years after beginning his career with the Boone Police Department. Detective Hamilton is a graduate of Simpson College and currently working towards his Master’s Degree. In addition to Detective Hamilton’s investigative duties, he also serves the department as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Field Training Officer (FTO), Field Sobriety Instructor, and a member of the JPD Bike Patrol. He worked part-time in 1991 and started full-time in 1992. He ihas served on the Strategic Anti-Felon Team (SAF-T), uniform patrol and as detective. In 2009, Siembieda returned to uniform patrol. Officer Bryan TownesOfficer Townes began his law enforcement career in 1990 as a Reserve Office. He worked part-time in 1991 and started full-time in 1992. He has served as a firearms instructor and laser radar instructor for the department. In 2000, Officer Townes was assigned to the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force (MINE) as the department's drug investigator.
