Home | Departments | PoliceRegister Your BikeThe Johnston Police Department offers a bicycle registration program and encourages bicycle riders of all ages to participate. The main advantage of registering your bicycle with the police department is that it can be easily identified if it becomes lost or stolen. Many bicycles are recovered during the year, but police department staff have no way to identify the appropriate owners. A bicycle that is registered allows the police department to find the owner more easily as the owner's contract information is kept on file at the police department.
To register a bicycle, owners should bring their bicycles to the police department, located at 6221 Merle Hay Road, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Department staff will assist the owner with completing the registration form and affix a registration sticker on the bicycle. If an owner cannot bring his or her bicycle to the police department, then the owner can visit the police department to request a registration form in person. When the owner returns the completed form to the police department, a registration will be issued and instructions on where to place the sticker on the bicycle will be provided. This service is free of charge. |
