Policies and Procedures
Call the Johnston Public Works office at 278-0822 to check on availability of the center. An application will be mailed to you.
The rooms are reserved on a first come first served basis up to 12 months in advance with priority given to senior citizen programs, youth activities, and city events. You may not be the only renter in the building during your event. Please be courteous to other renters.
Fees and deposits are to be paid prior to use and received at the Crown Point Community Center office within five (5) working days after a permit has been issued. The reservation is not confirmed until the fees are received.
The Crown Point Community Center office will return the deposit within 2 weeks after your event. The deposit is to correct minor damage only; renters are responsible for complete cost of repairs. The renter will be notified within 5 days if there is a problem that would result in the community center keeping the deposit.
Decorations are allowed in the community center starting at your requested time. Please no duct tape! Wall decorations allowed with art gum only.
The temperature for the building is set at 70 degrees. Please ask your building supervisor if you need the temperature raised or lowered.
Please return the room(s) to the specifications of the building supervisor. The renter is responsible for cleaning all rooms used to include sweeping, mopping, washing off tables and disposing of the refuse in the kitchen. The building supervisor is responsible for checking the room(s) and taking the trash to the dumpster. If the restrooms need attention during your stay, please notify the building supervisor.
You are welcome to use the supplies and equipment owned by Crown Point Community Center. Some supplies are stored here for regular users. Please ask your building supervisor before using any supplies.
Crown Point Community Center is a smoke-free environment. Please obey our no smoking on city property policy.
