Lew Clarkson Park

The Johnston City Council recently changed the name of Creekside Park to Lew Clarkson Park.   The change came at the recommendation of the Park Advisory Board in honor of long-time Johnston resident and developer, Lew Clarkson.  Clarkson was instrumental in starting the Johnston Little League in the mid-1950's as well as the incorporation of the City of Johnston.

Creekside Park is a 55-acre park adjacent to Beaver Creek. It offers soccer fields, provides access to the Beaver Creek, and a connection to the Green Meadows West recreation trail.   It is also home to the Johnston Little League and the Johnston Girls Softball Association.

Creekside Park is located at N.W. 54th Avenue.
