Sign Permits

picture of signGenerally, sign permits are required for all permanent and temporary signs.  Signs are regulated by Chapter 170 of the City Code, which is commonly referred to as the sign ordinance. Sign permits shall be submitted to the Building Department with the following information:

  • Sign Permit Application PDF icon
  • Sketch of sign with dimensions
  • Site plan or building elevation showing location of sign for monument signs
  • Building elevation showing location of sign on building

The permit fee is $50.00 for all permanent signs (monument and building) and $25 for all temporary signs.  Permits are typically reviewed within five days of submittal.

As a reminder, no signs of any nature are allowed in the public right of way, the area between the sidewalk and the curb.  Signs located within the public right of way are subject to confiscation by the City.
