The Johnston-Grimes Fire Department and Local 4835 are on a mission to extinguish hunger before the holiday season. They are asking for non-perishable food items to be brought to one of the three fire stations, Johnston City Hall or Grimes Community Center before Monday, November 19.

Bring non-perishable items to one of the following locations:

Fire Station 37
200 S. James Street, Grimes

Fire Station 38
10225 NW 62nd Avenue, Johnston

Fire Station 39
6373 Merle Hay Road, Johnston

Johnston City Hall
6221 Merle Hay Road

Grimes Community Center
410 SE Main Street

“We have always had great support from the community, so we hope this will help those less fortunate before the holiday season begins,” said Johnston-Grimes Firefighter Andrew Winter. “Our goal is to fill an ambulance this year and the items will be divided and donated to the food pantries in Johnston and Grimes. The members of our department and Local 4835 appreciate the support from the community and donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.”
