Commanders Award for Public Service

On Thursday, December 7, Lt. Tompkins with the Johnston Police Department received the Commander's Award for Public Service for outstanding service to the Iowa National Guard by helping develop an international youth camp exchange with Kosovo. Tompkins worked tirelessly to secure funding from a diverse base of community stakeholders to send four Johnston High School students to Kosovo for the Toka Summer Camp.
