Kempton Bridge & NW 66th Avenue Improvements - A Polk County project involving the city of Johnston.
Project Update (4/19/19): After the harsh winter weather, work is now resuming on the project, with work progressing on the installation of the permanent traffic signals at NW 26th Street/NW 66 Avenue, as well as at the intersection of NW Toni Drive and NW 66th Avenue.
Once the signal installation is completed, hopefully in the next 3 to 4 weeks, the entire roadway from NW Toni Drive to NW 23 St., as well as on NW 26 Street within the project limits will receive another lift or layer of asphalt surfacing, including final pavement markings.
This work is scheduled to be completed during a weekend to minimize traffic impacts, but may involve some temporary road closures. We will provide more information concerning this phase of the project once the exact date of the work is known. In the meantime, work will continue on the final grading, shoulder work, and permanent erosion control measures.
