Kempton Bridge & NW 66th Avenue Improvements - A Polk County project involving the city of Johnston.
Project Update (8/30/18): In an effort to make up for delays caused by recent flooding, Polk County has worked with the project contractor to implement a modification of the project staging plan. This modification includes the temporary closure of NW 26 Street south of NW 66 Avenue, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 4.
This closure is expected to be in place for 3 weeks, weather permitting. The detour can be found here. This modification of the staging will allow the contractor to reconstruct this entire section of NW 26 Street at one time and gain several weeks lost due to the July flooding and help us accomplish our goal of project completion by December 2018. Polk County appreciates the patience from motorists for their cooperation during this temporary road closure. Click here to see the update from Polk County.
